Who knew?!

The dishwasher is also a good jungle gym and toddler seat, apparently. Who knew?!

She's getting so big, so quickly! And yes, that's a sippy of whole milk. We've officially dropped one feeding and we're working on our second (insert Momma's sad face here).

11 months

Well, as usual, time has gotten away from me again. Gracie is now 11 and half months old and darling as ever. She can walk with assistance these days. She loves using her walker, but not nearly as much as she loves holding onto our hands to assist. I'm pretty sure walking on her own isn't too far away, but right now my lower back is paying the price for all of our trips around the house. She isn't confident enough oto hold just one hand yet, so we spend a lot of time bent over or walking on our knees.

She has gotten another tooth. That makes three! She's been working on all 4 top teeth for a while and finally the farthest one on the right came in. Daddy lovingly calls her Snaggle because it's a random tooth in her gummy upper lip. Hopefully the others aren't far behind!

Separation anxiety has begun. It leaves me feeling very loved by my baby girl, but very worn out as well. It seems to be worse when we're in large groups or when I stick around. If I just leave, she's happy as a lark! I'll just enjoy the sweetness now because I'm sure there will be a time when she doesn't want anything to do with me later.

She's talking up a storm, too. Still lots of jibber-jabber, which I adore. A few words she can say are Da-da, Mom-ma, baby, dog, woof woof, roar, and bye-bye. The woof woof she knows is what dogs say... although she kind of sounds more like an owl when she says it. But she will point to doggies in her favorite books and woof. The roar is what lions say. When I ask what a lion says, she has no idea. But if I roar at her, she will roar back in her deep gravely voice. So cute! Da-da is her happy word. She always jabbers about and to Daddy when she's happy. Mom-ma is her distress word. When she is mad, sad, or needs more food, that's when she calls for Momma. Fitting, I suppose?!

I'm finally out of school so Gracie and I can spend our days together. Yay!! Today we started weaning from breastfeeding. After a few tears, I think I'm ready for it. Gracie has been ready for a while, so it's time. I joined Weight Watchers this morning because I can finally cut calories without worrying about my milk supply. I'll be happy to get back to volleyball once a week since Daddy can put her to bed. It will be an awesome feeling to pack up my pump for a few years! Man, pumping sucks... literally! It will be a good thing. I just can't believe we're at this point already. Really, it feels like just a few weeks ago she was chillin' in my tummy and I was her only source of nourishment. Now she's doesn't need that from me anymore and it's crazy how fast it happened.

Here are a few pictures of our Little Sunshine. Her hair is so long that I have to wet it down every morning to make it lay down right. And the other picture shows her favorite favorite activity. Reading! She can't say book just yet, but she points to them every time we walk by. Makes the teacher in me smile!
