Last weekend we spent 3 days at the lake. There are so many reasons to love camping in the fall. And it is for all these reasons that we have officially decided to make it an annual tradition. So... it was technically our second annual Fall Family Camping Trip!
Camping in the fall brings out new ways to enjoy the lake. In the summer, we swim and fish. We go for boat rides under Nemo Bridge and to the Marina for ice cream. We play games inside to beat the heat and pretty much live in our bathing suits anytime we're outside. I usually beg for at least one campfire in the 100 degree heat, but usually end up making s'mores in the microwave. Fall, on the other hand, is simply blissful at Pomme. We wore jeans and hoodies all weekend stayed outside as long as we wanted. We could play at the un-shaded park all afternoon. We tried to fly a kite in the breeze (unsuccessfully so far, but there's always October) and sat by the fire every night. We ran the furnace at night, but had the doors and windows open all day. The stars were so bright and clear and the water was calm and chilly. It was a gorgeous weekend. About 18 hours into the trip, Ryan and I decided this will be a family tradition for always. Gracie and Tysie agreed!
I was able to snap a few shots of our fun weekend. Whenever I'm at the lake, I always forget to take pictures because I never have my phone on me. So here's what I was able to catch to share with you. There are a few sweet ones of Gracie and Daddy. They're becoming quite the pair these days. I just love watching them together. We spent quite a bit of time trying to teach her how to throw rocks into the water. And she begged and begged to walk Tysie (at a snail's pace) all day long! 'Leash?' she would say. She discovered the joy of slides... both going down and climbing up and was the talk of all the retirees who camp for weeks on end. We watched TV in our bed each morning and she loved using her cousins' DVD player on the long car rides. Such a fun and memorable trip.

Piggies for her Piggies!
One day last week, Daddy had a work event to attend in the evening. Gracie and I had a little extra time to kill, and somehow ended up with these cute slippers! When she wears them, she enjoys snorting like a pig. Additionally, when she wants to wear them, she snorts like a pig. It's hilarious!
