Easter 2016

Even though it was a few weeks ago, I don't want to skip over one of my favorite holiday weekends of the year.  We celebrated Easter super early this year, it even snowed on Easter morning, which was annoying and special at the same time.

Our Easter weekends are always jam-packed with fun!  We hit up our church's Easter Eggstravaganza again this year and Gracie so enjoyed the crafts and fellowship.  All of her cousins came, including Annabelle, which made the morning even more special.  She only collected about 8 eggs at the hunt because she was so particular about the ones she chose to pick up.  Later, when I asked her about it, she said she was disappointed about not getting very many eggs, but she said she was there for the crafts anyway!  Hattie enjoyed the morning, just trying to figure everything out!

After the Eggstravaganza, Ryan's side of our family came over for our annual Easter egg coloring and egg hunt.  Annabelle and Gracie had the best time playing together!  It's so fun now that they're so playful together!  Both girls quite enjoyed dying the eggs, too! When it came time for egg coloring, things were chaotic and someone else ended up grabbing the eggs out of our fridge.  Apparently there was some confusion about which eggs were hard boiled and which eggs weren't.  We didn't realize it until the next morning, but a dozen unboiled eggs accidentally got colored!  Oops!!  The Easter Bunny didn't mind though!

Sunday morning we woke up early to celebrate the reason we have Easter.  This year went a lot better than last year... see that post here.  The weather was kind of crummy and it even began to snow while we were in church.  Both girls looked darling in their Easter clothes, as did my nieces and nephew.  I tried to get some good pictures of them all, but not a single picture turned out perfectly... see for yourself below!

We hung out at my sister's house after church.  The kids played and played while we adults chatted and ate kabobs!  Yum! Yum!  Hattie took a good nap and woke up in time to head home.  That night I snapped a few more pictures of my sweet girls before we all crashed for bed.  It was a lovely weekend with family and friends to celebrate our Savior and His sacrifice for all of us.  We're so blessed to be His children.  The Easter Bunny delivered a new Bible (found here) for the girls to read and Ryan and I picked up a new family devotion book (found here) for us to use each day.  Both have been great additions to our family time.
